How to Delete Your TikTok Account Permanently (Step-by-Step Guide)
How to Delete Your TikTok Account
Before You Start
- It's not instant. TikTok gives you a 30-day grace period. Log back in during that window and your account is restored — automatically.
- After 30 days, it's gone for good. Videos, messages, followers, drafts — all wiped, no recovery.
- Want to keep your videos? Download your data first: Profile → Settings → Account → Download your data.
Steps (Mobile App)
- Open TikTok, tap Profile
- Tap the ☰ menu (top right)
- Go to Settings and privacy
- Tap Account
- Tap Deactivate or delete account
- Choose Delete account permanently
- Pick a reason (optional), tap Continue
- Verify your identity (password or code sent by SMS/email)
- Confirm deletion
Steps (Desktop)
Same path: Profile → Settings → Account Control → Delete, then follow the prompts. Desktop sometimes bounces you to the mobile app to finish the last step.
Locked Out of Your Account?
Use TikTok's Feedback webform → Account Access/Security → Request to delete an account, and attach proof you own it.
