How to Delete Your TikTok Account

Before You Start

  • It's not instant. TikTok gives you a 30-day grace period. Log back in during that window and your account is restored — automatically.
  • After 30 days, it's gone for good. Videos, messages, followers, drafts — all wiped, no recovery.
  • Want to keep your videos? Download your data first: Profile → Settings → AccountDownload your data.

Steps (Mobile App)

  1. Open TikTok, tap Profile
  2. Tap the ☰ menu (top right)
  3. Go to Settings and privacy
  4. Tap Account
  5. Tap Deactivate or delete account
  6. Choose Delete account permanently
  7. Pick a reason (optional), tap Continue
  8. Verify your identity (password or code sent by SMS/email)
  9. Confirm deletion

Steps (Desktop)

Same path: Profile → Settings → Account Control → Delete, then follow the prompts. Desktop sometimes bounces you to the mobile app to finish the last step.

Locked Out of Your Account?

Use TikTok's Feedback webformAccount Access/SecurityRequest to delete an account, and attach proof you own it.
