At Adsplatter.com we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect the information you provide us.
We may collect personal information, such as your name, email address, and phone number, when you register on our website, subscribe to our newsletter, or fill out a form. We may use this information to communicate with you, provide customer support, and improve our services.
We may also collect non-personal information, such as your IP address and browser type, to analyze user trends and improve our website. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except as described in this policy or as required by law. Advertisers whose campaigns run on an advertisement space receive aggregate performance statistics only — such as total distance covered and the broad areas a campaign reached. They are not shown the route an individual vehicle travelled, its location at any point in time, or any information identifying the publisher carrying the advertisement.
We may use cookies, which are small text files stored on your computer, to improve your browsing experience and personalize our services. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may limit your ability to use our website.
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no transmission of data over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
When you enable GPS tracking for your vehicle advertisement space, the Adsplatter app collects your device's precise location data, including GPS coordinates, speed, heading, and altitude. This data is transmitted in real-time to our secure servers and stored in our database.
Location data is used solely to track the movement of your vehicle advertisement space and generate route and coverage analytics. These analytics are displayed within the app to help you understand the reach of your advertisement space and maximise your earnings as an Adsplatter publisher. Advertisers running a campaign on your advertisement space are given aggregate figures only, as described under Information Collection and Use; they are never shown your route or anything identifying you.
Once you enable GPS tracking, collection continues while the Adsplatter app is in the background, while your device's screen is off, and after you close the app or dismiss it from your device's recent apps list. This is necessary to measure a complete journey: a vehicle advertisement space earns according to the distance it travels, and tracking that stopped every time you left the app would record only a fraction of that distance.
Background tracking is never silent. Whenever it is running, your device shows you that it is: on Android, a permanent notification reading 'Location tracking is active', which stays in your notification shade and cannot be dismissed while tracking continues; on iOS, the system location indicator shown by the operating system itself.
Location data is only collected when you explicitly enable GPS tracking via the in-app switch, and never before you do. You can stop it at any time by toggling the GPS switch off in the app, or by withdrawing the location permission in your device settings. When GPS tracking is disabled, no location data is collected or transmitted, whether the app is open or closed. Adsplatter does not request Android's 'Allow all the time' background location permission, and collects no location whatsoever while the GPS switch is off.
Location data collected from GPS-tracked advertisement spaces is retained for 12 months from the date it is recorded, after which it is deleted or irreversibly anonymised so that it can no longer be linked to you or your device. Aggregate statistics derived from it, such as total distance covered by an advertisement space, may be kept for longer because they no longer identify anyone.
Account information, such as your name, email address and phone number, is retained for as long as your account remains open. If you close your account it is deleted as described in the section on deleting your data, except where we are required to keep certain records for longer — payment and payout records, for example, which UK tax and accounting law requires us to keep for six years.
If you withdraw consent or delete your account before these periods expire, deletion happens then rather than at the end of the period.
If you are in the United Kingdom, data protection law gives you a set of rights over the personal data we hold about you. You can ask us for a copy of it; ask us to correct it if it is wrong or incomplete; ask us to delete it; ask us to restrict how we use it; ask us to send it to you or another provider in a portable format; and object to us using it for a particular purpose.
Where we rely on your consent — as we do for GPS location tracking — you can withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before you withdrew it. Turning the GPS switch off in the app withdraws it for future collection.
You do not need to ask us for a copy: you can download one yourself, at any time, from the Settings page of your dashboard at adsplatter.com/dashboard/settings. It contains the personal data we hold about your account — your profile, advertisement spaces, location history, earnings and payments — as a single file, with a spreadsheet version of each section. For your security it does not include your password or any verification code.
To exercise any of your other rights, or if you would rather we prepared the copy for you, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month. There is no charge. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.
You can delete your account and the personal data attached to it yourself, at any time, from adsplatter.com/account-deletion. You will be asked to choose what to delete before anything is removed.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Location history, advertisement spaces and earnings records tied to the account are removed along with it, other than records we are required by law to retain, as described in the section on data retention. If you want to keep any of it, download a copy from adsplatter.com/dashboard/settings before you delete the account.
If you would rather we handled it for you, or you can no longer sign in, email [email protected] and we will action the request.
